When the Sylnasari kingdom begins recruiting for war against its northern neighbors, an unlikely group of heroes is thrown together by fate—and duty. A half elf bard with a deadly past in the Unseelie Court carries a target on her back; a Crown-appointed team races to gather recruits before conflict erupts; two soldiers transporting a clever prisoner; and a pair of friends just trying to survive find themselves in the middle of it all.
As alliances shift and secrets surface, this ragtag band must navigate treacherous roads, deadly magic, and the ever-looming threat of war. In a world where trust is rare and every choice can be fatal, will their differences destroy them—or could their combined skills be the kingdom’s only hope?
